A Momentous Journey Begins
With immense humility and boundless inspiration, we marked a truly special moment on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 – the official launch of The Billington Foundation. It was a night filled with magic and wonder as 400 esteemed guests gathered at the breathtaking Liverpool Cathedral, hosted by the incomparable Marcus Brigstock, and graced with a surprise performance by the phenomenal Tony Hadley.
The presence of partners, family, friends, and dedicated employees from across the Billington Group made this evening unforgettable, as their support helped raise over £50,000. In the year leading up to the launch, The Billington Foundation took shape, establishing an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission under number 1185558.
While the Billington Group has a longstanding commitment to charitable causes in the UK, we desired to leave a legacy of our own, one dedicated to making a profound impact on the lives of young individuals by nurturing the essential skills and capabilities that can uplift society. Our very first mission was to find the perfect charity partner, leading us to the remarkable Buttle UK, who shares our vision of alleviating poverty and enhancing the lives of children and young people.
Internally, we’ve created a charity champion committee comprising employees from each of our sites. Their unwavering efforts have already generated a remarkable £46,000 in fundraising, supporting 34 children through Chances for Children grants and providing 119 children with a better night’s sleep through the Bed for Kids campaign.
With the proceeds from the launch event and the funds raised at our sites, the Foundation has made a stunning start, donating just under £100,000 to Buttle UK. We are brimming with excitement to continue our passionate fundraising journey, and we eagerly anticipate sharing our progress with you along the way. Together, we can make a difference that truly matters.
